Closing the Bones
Closing the Bones is a traditional postpartum healing ritual with roots in Central and South America, and cultures worldwide. It's a ceremony of being gathered, held and returned to centre after times of opening and change. This is not massage - it's a profound ritual of containment, closure and restoration. Who This Is For: * Postpartum mothers (24 hours to 47 years+ after birth) * Women navigating miscarriage or pregnancy loss * Those moving through perimenopause or menopause * Anyone needing closure after significant life transition * Women who feel scattered, ungrounded or "too open" What Happens: You'll rest fully clothed on cushioned floor space wearing loose, comfortable clothing. Using traditional rebozo shawls, I offer: Gentle rocking - rhythmic, cradling movement through your entire body using the rebozos Still holding - optional gentle contact at womb space and/or sacrum (only with your explicit consent) Sequential wrapping - your body is wrapped from head to toe with rebozos, creating deep containment Held rest - 30 minutes wrapped and held, allowing whatever needs to surface or settle The wrapping can be loose or snug according to your preference. Everything is guided by your comfort and consent. What Women Experience: Physically - relief in hips and back, feeling more "together," profound relaxation, accelerated healing Emotionally - safe space for grief, joy, anger, or release - whatever needs to be witnessed and honoured Energetically - closure, grounding, return to centre, lifting of "brain fog" Many women describe significant shifts - the return of sensation to numb areas, emotional releases that clear stuck energy, or life transitions that follow (first period after birth, moving child to own room, resolution with partner). This ritual is especially powerful for: Early postpartum healing (speeds recovery, helps organs settle) Processing birth trauma or difficult birth experiences Integrating pregnancy or baby loss Honouring the body after caesarean Closing one chapter before beginning another Practical Details: Duration - 2 hours Clothing - Loose, comfortable layers worn throughout No - massage oil, manipulation, or internal work Sessions - Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays at my home space Mobile sessions - Available locally may require a travel supplement Exchange - £120 This is holistic wellbeing support offered with clear professional boundaries.
