Closing the Bones

Closing the Bones is a slow, body-based ceremony offered to women during times of transition — such as after birth, loss, change or prolonged holding. This is a practice of containment rather than release, and of being gathered rather than opened. How the session is held: The session begins with time to arrive, settle and gently orient to the space. Consent, preferences, and boundaries are discussed clearly and revisited throughout. You will rest fully clothed on a cushioned floor space, wearing loose, comfortable clothing. A series of woven rebozo scarves are placed beneath and around the body from head to feet. With your consent, gentle rocking is offered using the scarves, moving slowly and rhythmically through the body — head, shoulders, arms, chest, pelvis, hips, legs and feet. The touch is repetitive, cradling and unhurried. At times, and only with your explicit consent, still holding may be offered at the womb space or sacrum. This contact is entirely optional and always guided by your preference. Wrapping & held rest: Following the rocking phase, the ceremony moves into wrapping. Different areas of the body are wrapped and gently contained using the rebozo scarves — including the head, shoulders, arms, torso, hips, legs and feet. The wrapping can be loose or more snug, according to what feels supportive for you. Once wrapped, you are left to rest for around 30 minutes, held by the scarves and the space. This time may be held in silence, with music or with gentle guided words if you wish. Afterwards, the scarves are slowly unwrapped, allowing time to reorient and return gradually. Each experience is individual. Session length: Please allow approximately 2.5 hours Clothing: Loose, comfortable clothing worn throughout Boundaries: No massage, no manipulation, no internal work This offering is held with clear professional boundaries and is offered as holistic wellbeing support, not therapy or medical treatment. Home-based sessions - Available from my home space in Clanfield, Hampshire on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Mobile sessions - Available by arrangement in Clanfield and surrounding areas, with a travel supplement.
